This well known bi-annual herb is rich in vitamin A B C and minerals such as iron, iodine and magnesium. Its curly dark green leaves are used to add flavour to salads, sauces, soups and casseroles
Prefers a sunny, open position in moist, well drained soil. Fresh leaves should be picked from the outside.
