In warm climates the French Lavender will form a large shrub growing 1m high and will be covered most of the year in lightly scented, purple flowers. This species is most popular as a hedge. Grows quickly and is always flowering.
The flower spikes are used for dried flower arrangements. The fragrant, pale purple flowers and flower buds are used in potpourris. Dried and sealed in pouches, they are placed among stored items of clothing to give a fresh fragrance and as a deterrent to moths.
