Description Name   Common Name: New Zealand Christmas Bush Botanical Name: Metrosideros Thomasii   Size   These plants are about 12 - 15cm in height Each plant comes in its own 50mm (2") pot   This variety can grow to about 5m high and 2m wide.    Description/Uses   A hardy small to medium, evergreen tree with leathery foliage, which in summer is covered in a mass of bright red-orange flowers. Ideal for use as a hedge or speciment tree   Thrives in a sunny, warm position in well drained soil and tolerates coastal exposure and periods of dryness. Ideal hedge plant or sepcimen tree, grows well in seaside gardens   Care and Maintenance Low to medium water use Semi shade to full sun Low maintenance Prune after flowering to maintain a compact growth. Tolerates wind and coastal areas. All our plants are established in their pots and are ready to plant straight into your garden or a larger pot.   Water well each day for 2 - 3 weeks after planting. Cultivate soil before planting. Dig the hole twice the size of the pot Place the plant in the hole so the soil level of the plant is the same as the surrounding ground. Fill the hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist.
