Name

 

Common Name: Viburnum Tinus, Laurustinus

Botanical Name: Viburnum Tinus

 

Size

 

These plants are about 12 - 15cm in height

Each plant comes in its own 50mm (2") pot

 

This variety can grow to about 3m high and 3m wide. 

 

Description/Uses

 

A rounded, evergreen shrub with oval, dark green, glossy leaves which develop purplish tones in colder weather. During winter it bears tight clusters of tight, white flowers which emerge from pink buds and these are followed by blue-black berries.

 

This charming shrub make a useful hedge or screening plant, an ideal container plant and garden specimen.

Tolerates a wide range of soils and conditions but prefers moist, well drained soil. It's also moderately frost hardy. Can be trimmed heavily after flowering to maintiain compact growth

  • Water well each day for 2 - 3 weeks after planting.
  • Cultivate soil before planting. Dig the hole twice the size of the pot

  • Place the plant in the hole so the soil level of the plant is the same as the surrounding ground.

  • Fill the hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist.
