Photos   The photo on the right is what the plants may look like when mature The photos on the left a samples of the actual stock being sold the plants you receive will be similar shape and size Item Description Name   Common Name: Port Wine Magnolia, Banana Shrub Botanical Name: Michelia Figo   Size   These plants are about 12 - 15cm in height Each plant comes in its own 50mm (2") pot   This variety can grow to about 3 - 4m tall and 2m wide.    Description/Uses   The banana shrub is so called because of the distinctive, sweet banana scent of its flowers. This dense evergreen shrub ideally should be grown near an entrance, window, or a doorway to get the full impact of its delicious fruity fragrance which is stronger at night.   Small, glossy, bright green leaves and during spring and summer tiny beige-purple and red flowers emit a heady, fruity scent rather like bananas or vintage port.   Care and Maintenance Medium water use Semi shade to full sun Low to medium maintenance Requires consistently moist soil, do not let dry out between waterings All our plants are established in their pots and are ready to plant straight into your garden or a larger pot.   Water well each day for 2 - 3 weeks after planting. To make a great hedge or screen space them 1 - 1.2m apart Prefers well drained soil with plenty of organic matter
