Botanical Name: Buxus Microphylla Japonica
Size
These plants are about 8 - 10cm in height
Each plant comes in its own 50mm (2") pot
This variety can grow to about 1.5m tall and 1m wide.
Description/Uses
Commonly used for low profile or full sized hedging and can be used for almost any landscaping application. The Buxus are among the most common hedging plants. They are especially well suited for shaping because the leaves are small and don't look ragged after trimming as do plants with larger leaves.
Some of the ways they can be used are as foundation plantings, to provide a framework for a formal garden, to outline a terrace, walkway or parking area, for planter boxes and as topiary or specimen pieces.
Care and Maintenance
All our plants are established in their pots and are ready to plant straight into your garden or a larger pot.
In order to make a great hedge, plant them about 25 - 30cm apart
Buxus are considered a moderate grower and will put on about 20cm per year once established
Place one handful of the feed or a small handful of slow release fertilizer around the new plant and give it a good trim. This will maximise growth and get best results.
