Common Name: Gardenia Magnifica

Botanical Name: Gardenia Augusta Magnifica

 

Size

 

These plants are about 12 - 15cm in height

Each plant comes in its own 50mm (2") pot

 

This variety can grow to about 1.5m tall and 1m wide. 

 

Description/Uses

 

This evergreen shrub produces a fantastic array of large sweetly perfumed double flowers set against a backdrop of glossy lime green foliage. It flowers throughout the wamer months from late spring on.

 

Great as a potted plant or planted as a thick dense hedge. Postion near windows or entry doors where the perfumed flowers can be enjoyed.

Remove dead flowers to keep a compact growth. Trim after flowering to create a great looking hedge.

  • Water well each day for 2 - 3 weeks after planting.
  • Gardenias prefer warm positions and protection from heavy frost.

  • Prefers moist well draining soil, not a good performer in clay soils.

  • benefits greatly from compost and fertiliser.

  • Plant 50cm apart to make a dense hedge.
