Name

 

Common Name: Camellia sasanqua Hiryu and Mine-no-yuki

Botanical Name: Camellia sasanqua Hiryu and Mine-no-yuki

 

Size

 

These plants are about 15 - 20cm in height

Each plant comes in its own 50mm (2") pot

 

This variety can grow to about 2 - 3m tall and 2 - 3m wide. 

 

Description/Uses

 

The plants you will receive will be a random mix of Pink (Hiryu) and white (Minenoyuki). The plants are currently mixed and cannot be seperated until they flower.

 

The Hiryu produces bright pink to rose red semi double flowers with golden stamens. The Mine-no-yuki is Native to China and Japan, is a profuse flowering camellia and produces beautiful snow white flowers that are quite showy in autumn. They are both perfect as a flowering hedge or privacy screen or can be left to grow in a pot.

Plant a bit higher than usual to ensure adequate drainage. Maintain a good layer of mulch to protect shallow roots and conserve moisture. Water regularly. Fertilize after blooming.

All our plants are established in their pots and are ready to plant straight into your garden or a larger pot.

 
  • Water well each day for 2 - 3 weeks after planting.
  • Place small amount of slow release fertilizer around the new plant once planted

  • To make a great screen, plant them about 1mtr apart. Trim the tops to allow them to flush out

  • Fertilise at the beginning Autumn
